THE CHILDREN'S DEPARTMENT

The department is housed in a separate two-storey building, not far from the central building of the Library, at 15. “Avksentiy Veleshki” Str. Users up to 14 years are being registered in it, but its library collection is used by all age groups. The availability of textbooks, teaching aids and reference books makes it a frequent place for students, teachers and parents. There are three free access rooms grouped by age groups. There are two reading rooms – for readers up to 10 and over 11 years old. Readers have automated workstations. There is also a Language Cabinet that offers literature in English, German, French and other languages. Materials – both paper and non-paper, are available for home or for on-site use. WiFi is available. Working hours throughout the year are from 08.30 to 18.00 without weekends.

Throughout the year, exhibitions, workshops and lessons are organized on different themes, but the trend is to develop innovative forms of work with children from the earliest childhood.
